After our energy supplier (not naming anyone in particular *cough* npower) announced our prices would increase by 48.4% for electricity and 25.8% for gas this month, Steve and I were 'no chuffed'.
Practical Steve set to work researching all the different tariffs and following advice from everyone's favourite Money Saving Expert, he kindly organised for us to switch.
I took a slightly more creative approach and set to work on this...
Remember I introduced you to Mr Snuggly a while back?
....well now Steve and I have our very own quilt to keep us cosy this winter.
I used some leftover fabric from ebay as well as an old duvet cover and a blanket I found in a charity shop.
I sewed the pieces of fabric together for the back and front then quilted them together with the blanket.
How are you going to save on energy this winter? Will you be taking a practical or a creative approach?
4 people smiled at this post:
Holy faff thats a huuuuge increase! I like your method, last year I was in a flat with electric (so, crap) heaters and I spend as much time as poss in bed! :)
our costs went up 40% for electric and thirty some for gas. I'm investing in lots of blankets. Maybe even a Snuggli. Do you have those there? OMG. Want.
Sorry to hear we are in the same boat!
Faff: waht an excellent excuse to stay in bed! Definitely a good technique.
Lora: Likewise, sorry to hear we are in the same boat! Are Snugglis those blanket cape things? I bet they're cosy.
Hi thanks for stopping by my blog! I love that you made this quilt, how awesome, hope it keeps you toasty warm
