Amongst other wonderful things that I did in my half term, I was lucky enough to have the chance to rummage in the charity shops in Glasgow's West End.
I found this amazing dress in the Salvation Army shop for just £1.99!

I wore it out on Saturday night and also to work. I love it.
I love the detail on it.
To me this dress alone is sufficient evidence that the number of charity shops on UK high streets should not be capped. Mary Portas - are you insane? Why would anyone want to limit an opportunity to make money for charity by turning someone's trash into someone else's treasure?
4 people smiled at this post:
Totally. (I haven't seen the full Mary Portas thing so I don't know if this was mentioned but-) A lot of the charity shops on our high streets are there rent-free, the agreement being that they will leave quickly if a paying tenant wants the shop (it stops the landlord from having to pay business rates on an empty property), so they actually help the town centres to look LESS empty AND they offer us bargains. What's to dislike about that?!
Hear, hear - far better than having empty shop units in town centres - and making money for charity as well. Win/win. Don't like Mary Portas anyway, but like her even less now!
Oh yea love it!! And such a bargain. I'm a big fan of charity shops - but not the ones who inflate their prices to ridiculous levels.. booo!
Love the detail! I've never been able to find anything for myself in charity shops but I did find a St. Patrick's Day Boston Red Sox Jersey (rare and expensive) super cheap in the Merchant City!
