This week I thought I'd take the opportunity to show you my favourite top.
I bought it when I was 16 for just £5 in the Bay sale. I remember finding it, trying it on in the shop and loving it. I thought I was just the bees knees because of the sophisticated lace and ribbon trim. I wore it to some of first "grown-up" parties and I wore it with pride. When I was 17 I was wearing it when I kissed the boy I'd fancied for months and months and months.
I re-found it in my chest of drawers at in my bedroom at my parents home and had to bring it back down to England with me. Here I am aged 23, still wearing it with pride.
Top - Bay Trading
Cardigan - Marks and Spencers
Skirt - Hand-me-down
What's your most long-standing, faithful wardrobe item?
3 people smiled at this post:
I have a couple of never-fail dresses, but I DO also still have a top from my teens (which I was wearing when I had my first kiss); it's totally tatty now so I only ever wear it for DIY but I loved it so much at the time I don't want to throw it out.
When you find something that works don't ever let it go!
Thanks girls! I think I will be keeping this top for a long time to come!
